Contest Rules

  1. The contest is free to enter.
  2. This is a High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo Contest of any subject sponsored in conjunction with Roamin’ with Roman Photography Tours and SDC Photography and is open to anyone 18 years or older.  The family and employees of Roamin’ with Roman Photography Tours, SDC Photography, and our prize sponsors; Hunt’s Photo And Video, Unified Color Software are not eligible to enter.
  3.  Only 1 HDR image per maker is allowed.  People submitting more than 1 image will have only the 1st submission allowed. Image to be submitted must be an HDR image and the winners will be asked to provide original files used as well as settings and software used to create the final image. Any participant not meeting the above requirements will be disqualified and an alternative winner will be selected. Files submitted must be a jpeg, saved at 1024 pixels on the long dimension with a maximum file size not to exceed 1 MB.
  4. Images are to be submitted by e-mail to: rkurywczak@gmail.com . No mail submissions will be accepted.  By entering this contest you agree to also receive other promotions and or information from the sponsors but e-mail information will not be sold to other parties by the sponsors.
  5. The contest deadline is March 31st, 2012 at midnight EST.  Images submitted after the deadline will not be allowed and no exceptions will be made for late or delayed entries.  All decisions on erroneous, incorrectly sized, missing, delayed, or late entries shall be at the sole discretion of the sponsors of the competition.
  6. By submitting an image, the entrant certifies that he/she is the copyrighted owner of the submitted image and will retain all rights to the submitted image.  By submitting an image to this contest, the maker allows Roamin’ with Roman Photo Tours, SDC Photography, and our prize sponsors to post the images for viewing on the sponsor’s blog, use the image when posting the results of the contest, and in any promotion of future contests without further compensation.  Photographer credit will be given in all cases.  No images submitted will be posted on Facebook or any other social media.
  7. The judges for this contest will be Roman M. Kurywczak and Susan D. Candelario.  The decision of the judges will be final and the winners announced on or around April 13th, 2012.
  8. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize.
    • The 1st place prize is a choice of one of three ½ day instructional Roamin’ with Roman Photo Tour workshops being co-led by Susan Candelario and valued at over $150. 
      • ½ day Gillette Castle HDR workshop on April 14th in East Haddam CT
      •  ½ day Macro workshop at Longwood Gardens on May 20th in Kennett Square PA
      •  ½ day High Speed Water Drop Photography workshop on November 17th in Secaucus, NJ.
    • 2nd prize is a Think Tank Speed Demon v2.0 bag provided by Hunt’s Photo and Video valued at $140. 
    • 3rd prize is a full version of HDR Express software provided by Unified Color Technologies valued at $100. 
    • There are no substitutions for the prizes.
